Senator John Barrasso (R-Wyo.), spoke on the Senate floor about his amendment to Senate Budget Resolution, S. Con. Res. 11, that limits the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) from adopting an expanded and broad regulatory definition of “Waters of the United States.”

Governor Matt Mead announced the release of the state’s initiative to end homelessness. The plan contains steps to identify where the homeless are located and what the state can do to remedy those things that contribute to homelessness.

On Thursday, May 15, 2014, the Wyoming Community Development Authority (WCDA) Board of Directors approved the allocation of approximately $1.3 million in Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) and $1.5 million in HOME Investment Partnership Program funds to affordable housing developments across Wyoming. The tax credits and HOME funds, which are allocated by the WCDA through a competitive application process, will finance the development of a total of 110 rental units in three multifamily projects

Citing the need for better coordination between governmental entities and private and nonprofit organizations to address homelessness, Governor Matt Mead has tapped the Wyoming Department of Family Services (DFS) to coordinate information on homeless issues and services. DFS will assess data, inventory community and state programs and create a ten-year plan to address homelessness

U.S. Senators Robert Menendez (D-NJ) and Senator Mike Enzi (R-WY) today re-introduced legislation to promote access to private capital that will help boost America’s commercial real estate in the face of decreased property values and limited loan opportunities.
