Senators seek to nullify expanded EPA water rule definition

WASHINGTON, D.C. – September 18, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — U.S. Senators Mike Enzi and John Barrasso, both R-Wyo., joined Joni Ernst R-Iowa, along with 44 Senate co-sponsors, in introducing a joint resolution that would disapprove of a rule that the senators say is an EPA power grab through control of the country’s waterways.

The resolution would nullify this rule. Enzi and Barrasso said the resolution would also send a message to the EPA and Army Corps of Engineers that the agencies failed to address the concerns raised by farmers, ranchers, manufacturers and small businesses in Wyoming and across the country.

Barrasso has also introduced another proposal, cosponsored by Enzi, which provides clear principles and directions for the EPA and Army Corps of Engineers to craft a Waters Of The United States rule that takes into consideration positions held by key stakeholders, without causing additional harmful and unnecessary government regulations.
